WINTER
WALKS AND VALENCIA CITY BREAKS
For our Winter Walking Holidays
we have put together the ideal combination of some of
our best walks with the cultural sights and entertainment
of Valencia city.

Based in modern, comfortable accommodation, just
a stone's throw from the exciting City of Arts
and Sciences, we will collect you each morning
for the short drive to one of the walks featured
in either our 'Inclusive' or 'Independent' walking
holidays. Our day will include lunch, either a
picnic or restaurant meal, and late afternoon
we will return you to Valencia for you to enjoy
one of the myriad of things that this beautiful
city has to offer.

Walks available are for all
grades, from the first time walker to the most experienced.
This is an ideal opportunity to see both the varied
countryside that surrounds Valencia, from rugged
mountains with cork oaks and pines, coastal walks
with paddy-fields and orange groves to the vibrant
city of Valencia which is fast challenging Barcelona
as a favourite Mediterranean city destination. Depending
on the number of guests we should be able to tailor
make a selection of walks that suit you.

Of course we cannot guarantee the good weather,
it is after all winter, however we can promise that
on the fine days you will enjoy wonderful blue skies
with beautiful clear air views across a variety
of different coastal landscapes and there are statistically
more fine days than bad.

Accommodation:
The apartments we use for our Winter Walking Holidays
were opened at the end of 2006, and are located 100 metres
from the City of Arts and Sciences and 20 minutes walk
to the city centre. They are fully equipped and furnished
apartments with 24 hour security, air conditioning, fully
equipped kitchen, wi-fi internet, cable tv, private parking,
housekeeping service and lift. Each apartment consists
of 1 double room with twin beds, lounge with a sofa bed,
tv and new furnishings, open plan kitchen area with table
and chairs fully equipped with fridge freezer, microwave,
cooker and cooking utensils, bathroom with shower (towels
are supplied), and a small balcony. The apartments are
cleaned and fresh towels are supplied on a daily basis.
There are ample restaurants, bars and cafes offering a
fine selection of food and drinks on the doorstep to the
apartments along with shops and a supermarket should you
need them.
The apartments offer comfortable surroundings along with
the flexibility of being free to come and go as you choose
without being constrained by eating timetables.
Should the apartments not be available we will accommodate
you in one of Valencia’s fine hotels.
Climate:
The region of Valencia has a mainly Mediterranean climate:
warm and dry summers, and mild winters. The average temperatures
during the Winter Walking months vary between 12 and 20
degrees. Although it is common to have beautiful blue
skies, rain, although infrequent, is possible, so we do
recommend waterproof clothing for these months.

For our Winter Walking Holidays our Winter Walks
and Valencia City breaks are designed to offer flexibility
and choice. You decide on the number of days you
wish to spend in Valencia along with the number
of walks you would like to do and Walks in Spain
will do the rest. Arrival dates are flexible however
subject to availability of apartments. A typical
5day/4night holiday would comprise of: |

Day 1
Arrival Day. Collected from Valencia airport in the Walks
in Spain Mercedes minibus and transferred to the apartments.
Welcome pack with maps and local information will be given
along with an introduction to Valencia and the neighbouring
areas.
Day 2
Collected in the morning and taken on a walk of your choice
no longer than 30 - 45 minutes drive. Either a picnic
lunch (weather permitting) or lunch at a typical Valencian
restaurant. Transferred back to the apartment in the early
afternoon allowing you time to explore Valencia City.
You choose where you would like to have dinner and we
will reserve the table. Day 3
A free day to explore Valencia City (Central market, old
quarter, City of Arts and Sciences etc) Day
4
Collected in the morning and taken on a walk of your choice
no longer than 30 - 45 minutes drive. Either a picnic
lunch (weather permitting) or lunch at a typical Valencian
restaurant. Transferred back to the apartment in the early
afternoon allowing you time to explore Valencia City.
You choose where you would like to have dinner and we
will reserve the table. Day 5
Departure Day. You will be collected from the apartments
and driven to Valencia airport.

possible to offer more or less walks depending on
your requirements and the size of the groups. A
finalised combination can be put together upon request.
